KAREN READER – SKI, BIKE
Karen has dedicated much of her adult life to enjoying and anticipating perfect and imperfect turns, in search of fluid lines, and of course the pursuit of ‘cold smoke’. Karen has twice earned podium finishes at the US National Telemark Freeskiing Championships and is a two-time champion of the infamous Al Johnson Uphill-Downhill Telemark Race.
Karen has been teaching skiing for over 15 years, she is a fully certified instructor in Telemark in the US and Canada. Karen coaches Red Mountain’s Freeride Team, is a course conductor for CANSI, and she also travels to teach clinics in the US and Canada.
JANAE PRITCHETT – SKI, BIKE
Janae is a versatile athlete who loves to share her passion for sports and the outdoors. Currently, she races professionally in both downhill and cross country mountain biking, consistently placing in the top 3. She was twice the US Telemark National Champion.
Before having children, she raced as a professional triathlete. She lives in Crested Butte with her husband and two small children. She also owns and operates Colorado Backcountry Guide Service. When not on the trails or ski slopes, she teaches high school mathematics at the Crested Butte Community School.
SARAH MAH RARICK – BIKE
DESERT RAT TOURS
Sarah has been mountain biking in the Grand Valley for nearly two decades. She is one of the owners of Desert Rat Tours and helped found Over the Edge Sports. As a rider, her forte is endurance racing, but she has conducted skills clinics and enjoys introducing people to the sport. She has also had a hand in building many of the trails in the area and loves to show her “backyard.”
